The history of The Southern Bank Company starts back in 1936 when First Federal Savings and Loan was established in Gadsden, Alabama.  Over the years we have been a part of Northeast Alabama’s growth and progress.  In 2000 we changed our name to The Southern Bank Company, but our commitment to providing attractive, low-interest rate loans and great service remains the same.
